Past participants are now singing at the Met, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Chicago Lyric, La Scala, Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, Berlin Staatsoper, Santa Fe Opera, Dresden, Munich, Basel et.al.

The student body is international, and has included talented singers from the US, Germany, Russia, Canada, Poland, France, Mexico, Austria and England. The number of participants is limited to eighteen, to insure sufficient individual attention and a high standard of work.

A typical day starts with group body awareness, alignment, breathing and centering work. Each singer then gets time in the masterclass with Neil Semer, several private lessons with Roberta Cunningham per week and coachings with the pianists on staff. Rehearsals for the 4 public performances are held in the evening, and consist of repertoire suitable for each singers, voice, temperament, taste and stage of development. An auditions training workshop is held each week as well as evenings devoted to listening to great singers to promote discussion of their technique and artistry.

The vocal and artistic level of participants is high, and range from professionals already working in major opera houses to talented student level singers.
The vocal works is influenced by the philosophy of the great Italian pedagogue, Giovanni Battista Lamperti, and melds a scientific understanding of vocal, physical and acoustic principals with the emotional, intellectual and spiritual responses to music, poetry and drama of the individual artist.

The program is moderately priced.
